The next Skoda Kamiq 2019 SUV was filmed after the Czech brand unveiled a new interior
Car scoop spy photographers took the next Skoda Kamiq SUV photo. As it was tested before its launch at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
The Kamiq will join the Skoda lineup as the company’s smallest SUV. Designed as a sister car of the SEAT Arona and the Volkswagen T-Cross and a rival for the Hyundai Kona. These spy photos are the best for the new model. While they leave little imagination these exclusive images show you what the SUV should look like.
Best small SUV and crossover on sale
The design of the Kamiq is no big surprise. Skoda had already alluded to the new model with the revelation of the Vision X concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018. While under the weak camouflage protection that this latest development mule carries. We can clearly see that the new model will not tip over the boat with a design radically different from all the rest of the Skoda stable.
The spying photos come shortly after Skoda has released images revealing the interior of the new compact SUV. Showing a shift in approach from the Czech manufacturer.
As promised by the concept Vision X, the car that preceded the production of Kamiq, the new interior treatment includes a central infotainment screen for “floating tablet”.
The unique image released by Skoda features a 9.2-inch version of this screen. Although smaller configurations are likely to be available further in the Kamiq range.
The screen is placed higher on the dashboard than is usual for the brand. In order to facilitate the interaction of the driver with the system without leaving the road eyes.
Skoda’s photo also shows that the Kamiq will be offered with at least the option of a fully digital dashboard, A “big car” feature in a model that is actually a rival to the likes of the Nissan Juke crossovers and Renault Captur . .
The shape of the dashboard itself is designed to make the cabin of the Kamiq feel as wide as possible. As a result, the ventilation openings are “stretched” in the door panels and there is only one horizontal line that plunges behind the infotainment screen but goes from one side to the other of the car.
The Kamiq is probably one of the largest and most practical vehicles in its class. It rests on the same MQB A0 platform as the Volkswagen T-Cross and SEAT Arona. But uses a longer wheelbase than its Volkswagen group cousins .
The new Skoda SUV will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
